On April 28, 2023, select faculty members from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON) attended the 1st General Assembly and Convention on Positioning Public Health Nursing in the Implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC). Held at Sotejo Hall, UP College of Nursing, UP Manila, and organized by the National Association of Public Health Nurses, Inc. (NAPNHI), this landmark event gathered public health nursing leaders and practitioners to discuss their essential role in advancing UHC in the Philippines.

The convention highlighted the integral work of public health nurses in preventive healthcare, community health education, and the delivery of equitable healthcare services. UC-CON faculty had the opportunity to participate in discussions on policy implementation, strategies for reaching underserved populations, and the resources needed to effectively support UHC. This event provided invaluable insights into enhancing community health programs and fostering interprofessional collaboration.
