The UC College of Nursing delegation, headed by Dean Judith Odanee G. Magwilang, actively participated in the ADPCN 2023 Summer Conference, held May 9-10, 2023, at the Grand Caprice, Limketkai Center, Cagayan De Oro. This year’s conference theme, “Promoting Equity and Diversity in Nursing Education: Towards Universal Health Care,”provided a dynamic platform for faculty from nursing institutions nationwide to engage in insightful discussions and hands-on workshops.
Through these sessions, the UC-CON delegation explored innovative approaches to integrating equity and diversity within nursing curricula, aligning educational practices with the needs of diverse patient populations. Keynote presentations and interactive sessions underscored the importance of preparing nursing professionals to be culturally competent, ensuring they are equipped to deliver equitable healthcare to all communities. The conference also highlighted essential strategies for cultivating an inclusive learning environment, addressing socio-demographic factors, and supporting Universal Health Care through progressive nursing education.
Under Dean Magwilang’s leadership, UC-CON faculty members left the conference inspired and equipped with fresh perspectives to enhance their curriculum, reinforcing UC’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive healthcare workforce.
