On September 18-19, 2023, faculty members from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON), including Level 4 Program Chair Sheila Maria Batoon, Level 1 Program Chair and Research Coordinator Gilbert Bernarino, as well as faculty members Ferdinand Tercero, Deksi Lawangen, Agnes Baniwas, and Jonathan Ilagan, participated in a seminar/workshop on Writing for Publication. This event, organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) and the Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium, took place at the CCA Conference Room, Saint Louis University, Baguio City.
The workshop featured resource speakers Dr. Jimmy Catanes and Dr. Thelma Palaoag, who led sessions on crucial aspects of research publication. Dr. Erlinda Palaganas discussed the rigorous process and techniques involved in research publication. The speakers also provided insights on strengthening the review of related literature and mentoring for successful publication in academic research.
This seminar aimed to equip the attendees from various government organizations and higher educational institutions with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the complexities of research publication, enhancing their capabilities in contributing to academic literature and advancing nursing education. Through collaboration and shared learning, UC-CON continues to foster a culture of research excellence and innovation among its faculty members.
