UC Nursing Students Triumph at the 2024 Anastasia Giron Tupas Nursing Olympics

Excellence, teamwork, and commitment shine as UCians advance to the national stage.

In a remarkable display of skill and knowledge, six student nurses from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON) excelled at the prestigious Anastasia Giron Tupas (AGT) Nursing Olympics held on March 20, 2024, at T. Alonzo Street, Baguio City. Demonstrating both intellectual rigor and professional competence, the UC-CON delegates earned 1st and 3rd places, securing their advancement to the national level competition set for May 2024.

The 1st Place Team was composed of Jaysiebelle Lam-In (4th year)Lavern Klyde Agorilla (3rd year), and Francine Milo (2nd year), while the 3rd Place Team included Kayzee Oviedo (4th year)Nicholai Escalona (3rd year), and Melchor Joemar Sicco (2nd year). Their success reflects not only their dedication and teamwork but also the strong mentorship provided by Clinical Instructor Vanessa Joy Gasat, with the support of 4th-year students Clydee Pinkihan and John Dave Abran as assistant coaches.

The AGT Nursing Olympics serves as a premier venue for nursing students across the region to demonstrate their mastery of core competencies and critical thinking. The UC-CON teams’ stellar performance embodies the college’s commitment to academic excellence, professional growth, and leadership in the nursing field.

This achievement further reinforces UC-CON’s vision of producing globally competent, compassionate, and research-oriented nurse leaders, showcasing the strength of its nursing education and the dedication of its faculty mentors.
