UC-CON and Baguio General Hospital Collaborate for Community Blood Typing Initiative

Promoting health awareness and community care through accessible services.

In a meaningful act of community partnership, the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON) joined forces with Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) to offer free and accessible blood typing services to local residents.

The initiative aimed to empower individuals with knowledge of their blood types, enhancing their preparedness for medical needs and participation in lifesaving programs such as blood donation. Beyond diagnostics, the activity fostered health awareness, social responsibility, and community collaboration, reflecting UC-CON’s ongoing mission to extend compassionate care beyond the classroom.

This joint effort underscores the value of public health initiatives rooted in education and partnership, demonstrating how collective action can positively impact community well-being.
