Promoting Community Service and Hands-On Learning Through Health Outreach Initiatives

On June 25, 2024, student nurses from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON), under the supervision of Clinical Instructor Mr. Richard Danganan, joined “Operation Tuli,” a community circumcision drive held in Barangay Quirino Hill, Baguio City.
The initiative delivered free and essential healthcare services to local families, particularly indigent residents, addressing unmet medical needs while providing student nurses with valuable hands-on clinical experience. This outreach reflects UC-CON’s enduring commitment to community engagement, preventive health, and service-based education, seamlessly merging classroom learning with real-world compassion.
Through programs like Operation Tuli, UC-CON continues to develop nurses who embody competence, empathy, and social responsibility, contributing to healthier and more equitable communities.
