Celebrating Success, Service, and the Beginning of a New Chapter in the Nursing Profession

On July 18, 2024, a total of 380 newly registered nurses who successfully passed the May 2024 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (PNLE) and the June 2024 Philippine Nurses Special Professional Licensure Examination took their oath during the 35th Oathtaking Ceremonies of New Professional Nurses hosted by the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON).
Earhaisha Dela Cruz Soriano, who ranked 10th in the May 2024 PNLE, led the traditional Florence Nightingale Pledgeand delivered the Response from the Topnotcher, inspiring her fellow new nurses to uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and service in their professional journey.
The momentous event was facilitated by the Professional Regulation Commission – Cordillera Administrative Region (PRC–CAR), the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing, the Cordillera Regional Nurses Association Inc. – PNA–CAR and Baguio Chapter, and the Cordillera Association of Nursing Deans Inc. The ceremony honored the achievements of the new nurses and emphasized their vital role in advancing the healthcare profession.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Alignment
This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
SDG 4.4 – Increase the number of youth and adults with relevant skills for employment and decent work.
By recognizing the accomplishments of newly licensed nurses, UC-CON promotes the development of skilled professionals ready to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare workforce.
SDG 3.C – Substantially increase health financing and the recruitment, development, and training of the health workforce.
The oathtaking ceremony underscores the importance of nurturing a competent and ethical nursing workforce to ensure quality healthcare delivery in the Philippines and beyond.
