📅 July 29, 2024
📍 Room F501, University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City
The University Student Council (USC), in partnership with the College of Nursing (CON), successfully hosted a community outreach event that provided essential health assessments to UCians and members of the local community. The event, held in Room F501 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offered free basic health services designed to promote preventive care and raise health awareness.
Participants received a variety of vital signs assessments, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and body temperature checks, as well as blood glucose testing. These screenings were facilitated by nursing students, who applied their clinical knowledge while engaging directly with the UC community and the public.
Approximately 100 participants, including students, faculty, staff, and community residents, took advantage of the free services. The event not only provided accessible health monitoring but also encouraged individuals to stay proactive in maintaining their well-being.
Through this collaboration, the University Student Council and the College of Nursing reaffirmed their shared commitment to community health advocacy and student engagement, emphasizing the importance of holistic wellness and social responsibility in higher education.
