August 16, 2024 | Malcolm Square, Baguio City – The Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP)celebrated its 55th founding anniversary on August 4, 2024, marking over five decades of dedication to community health and empowerment. To commemorate this milestone, the UC College of Nursing (UC-CON), through its Youth and Adolescents Sexuality and Reproductive Health Hub (UYAHH), joined FPOP Baguio-Benguet in contributing to health and wellness efforts in the region.
As part of FPOP’s ongoing mission to promote accessible and sustainable healthcare, a medical mission was organized on August 16, 2024, at Malcolm Square, Baguio City, with the theme “Embracing Change for Sustainability.” The initiative offered a wide range of free medical services, including blood pressure monitoring, blood cholesterol testing, blood glucose testing, uric acid testing, nerve testing, general check-ups, HIV screening and counseling, and the distribution of condoms and contraceptive pills.
The collaboration between UC-CON and FPOP exemplified a strong partnership in community empowerment. UC-CON students and faculty participated actively in the mission, helping provide vital healthcare services and resources to those in need. This event not only celebrated FPOP’s impactful 55-year journey but also demonstrated the shared commitment of both organizations to fostering a healthier and more empowered future for the community.
