📍 Aura One Hotel, Rimando Road, Baguio City

The Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (CRHRDC) successfully held the “Basic Research Methods: Training for Trainers” from September 12 to 14, 2024, at Aura One, Rimando Road, Baguio City.

As an active member institution of CRHRDC, the University of the Cordilleras (UC) continues to engage in specialized training and professional development initiatives. Representing the UC College of Nursing (UC-CON) were faculty members Danny Sagun and Reuben Laguitan, who participated in this intensive program designed to enhance their competencies in delivering Basic Research Method (BRM) modules.

The training, aimed at strengthening health research capacity across the region, gathered experienced graduates of previous BRM courses for advanced facilitator preparation. Guided by expert trainers, participants engaged in interactive sessions combining lectures and teaching demonstrations on the 12 BRM modules. Each participant received hands-on feedback to refine teaching techniques and ensure effective and engaging module delivery.

By the conclusion of the program, 24 participants were certified as BRM trainers, equipped with the skills and confidence to promote research excellence in their respective institutions. This initiative underscored CRHRDC’s commitment to building a sustainable network of research mentors and advancing health research in the Cordillera region.

Through its active involvement in CRHRDC, UC continues to champion research-driven education, empowering faculty and students to contribute to evidence-based health innovations and regional development.
