On October 6, 2024, eight student nurses from the University of the Cordilleras, accompanied by faculty members Mr. Gilbert Bernardino and Mrs. Deksi Lawangen, proudly represented the university at the 22nd National Conference for Nursing Students, held at the prestigious Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel. The conference, with the theme “Strengthening Quality Assurance in Nursing Education for a Sustainable Health Workforce,” emphasized the critical need for advancing nursing education to foster a highly skilled and competent healthcare workforce.
The event featured a range of activities, including poster presentations where four UC-CON student nurse researchers presented their innovative work. These students highlighted the importance of research in advancing nursing practice and improving healthcare outcomes. The presenters included two groups from Level 4 students: Jomel B. Dumlao and Polly Fulangen, as well as Ashlyn Rhie Amoy and Januel Camarao.
This experience not only allowed the students to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on nursing education but also provided them with an invaluable opportunity to showcase their research to a wider audience, reinforcing UC-CON’s commitment to excellence in nursing education and research.
