On October 28, 2024, the University of the Cordilleras (UC) College of Nursing, in partnership with the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) Blood Bank, organized a successful blood donation drive. The event took place from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, drawing participation from compassionate nursing students, volunteers, and members of the community who came together to support this life-saving cause. Thanks to their generosity, the initiative collected a remarkable total of 56 blood bags, each destined to aid patients in urgent need of blood transfusions.
The blood donation drive saw the active participation of doctors and nurses from BGHMC, who were joined by the UC College of Nursing Student Council (CSC) officers and nursing students. Together, they managed various aspects of the event, conducting essential procedures such as vital sign checks, physical assessments, interviews, and health screenings. Their collective efforts ensured that each blood donor was carefully evaluated and well-supported throughout the process.
The UC College of Nursing extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in this initiative. Thanks to their dedication, the blood donation drive was a resounding success and a testament to the power of collaboration and community in saving lives.
