UC College of Nursing and BGHMC Strengthen Collaboration Through IT Benchmarking Session

Exploring Technological Innovations in Healthcare and Education

November 13, 2024 – University of the Cordilleras, Baguio City. The University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON), under the leadership of Dean Dr. Judith Odanee G. Magwilang, hosted a benchmarking sessionwith the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center – Human Resource Development (BGHMC-HRD) team at the UC Conference Room. The event, held at 1:00 PM, was conducted in collaboration with the Information Technology Systems and Services (ITSS) department of UC.


Fostering Collaboration and Innovation

The benchmarking session aimed to explore best practices in integrating information technology (IT) into healthcare and education, fostering collaboration between UC-CON and BGHMC-HRD.

Mr. Jonathan O. Castillo, Director of ITSS, led the session and shared insights on leveraging technology to optimize healthcare processes, enhance data management, and strengthen digital literacy in nursing education.

Key representatives from BGHMC-HRD included Administrative Officer V Robert R. ObligadoAdministrative Officers Kevin Jan M. Castillo and Karl P. Asingal, and Administrative Assistants Jeffered Jet K. Agnad, Mark Ian L. De Guzman, John Daryll M. Enrico, and Cesar Angelo G. Sancio.

The open exchange of ideas and practices provided an opportunity for both institutions to identify potential collaborations that could improve healthcare informatics, digital systems, and administrative efficiency.

The benchmarking activity underscored the shared goal of enhancing institutional efficiency and innovation through technology. By integrating IT solutions in both healthcare operations and nursing education, UC-CON and BGHMC aim to streamline processes, improve service delivery, and prepare future nurses for technology-driven healthcare environments.

This collaboration strengthens UC-CON’s vision of producing competent, adaptive, and future-ready nursing professionals who can thrive in evolving health systems.
