UC-CON Faculty Concludes Final Monthly Meeting for 2024

The University of the Cordilleras-College of Nursing (UC-CON) faculty held their final monthly meeting for the year on December 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Nursing Laboratory (NLAB). Facilitated by Level 2 Coordinator Mrs. Nasper Anod, the meeting focused on addressing key academic and administrative matters as the academic year neared its close.

The session began with a prayer led by Miss Urany Marie Way-yas, followed by the presentation of the minutes from the previous meeting.

Mr. Gilbert Bernardino, Level 1 and Research Coordinator initiated the discussions by addressing Level 1 student concerns and emphasizing the roles of research panels and advisers in supporting students’ research projects.

Next, Mrs. Josephine Minger, Level 3 Coordinator, provided updates on the schedules and addressed specific concerns related to Level 3 students, ensuring faculty preparedness for their academic and clinical responsibilities.

Dean Judith Odanee Magwilang delivered a comprehensive discussion on the roles and responsibilities of faculty members, reiterating their duties in upholding academic integrity and fostering a supportive learning environment. She also reviewed institutional guidelines, Sunday school activities, student evaluation results, and strategies for addressing student concerns.

Mrs. Nasper Anod, Level 2 Coordinator, followed with reminders about clinical duty schedules, rules and regulations, and other concerns specific to Level 2 students and faculty.

Mrs. Agnes Baniwas led a discussion on fostering support among faculty members, emphasizing collaboration and providing assistance to colleagues during challenging times.

Miss Sheila Maria Batoon, Level 4 Coordinator, discussed grading, schedules, and other academic requirements for Level 4 students, ensuring that faculty members were aligned with expectations for the graduating cohort.

The meeting concluded with Program Chair and Quality Assurance Officer Mrs. Judith Layao, who presented updates on several important topics, including course outlinesTOEIC preparationssecond-semester course offerings, and end-term requirements. Her discussion emphasized the importance of aligning academic deliverables with institutional standards to ensure a seamless transition into the next semester.

The meeting, attended by UC-CON faculty members, highlighted the college’s commitment to addressing student concerns, fostering collaboration, and maintaining high standards in nursing education. It provided a solid foundation for the college’s initiatives in the coming year.
