Baguio City – The University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC CON) Student Council (CSC), and the UC Youth and Adolescent Sexuality and Reproductive Health Hub (UYAHH) actively participated in the “Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio” on February 9, 2025, at the Melvin Jones Grandstand and Football Ground. This initiative was part of the city’s Panagbenga Festival, aiming to bring essential health services to the Baguio community.
Throughout the day, UC CON students and faculty members provided vital health services, including First Aid assistance, random blood sugar (RBS) and fasting blood sugar (FBS) monitoring, vital signs (VS) monitoring, and blood typing. These services ensured that event attendees received immediate medical attention and basic health assessments, promoting health awareness among families.

Additionally, UYAHH featured Family Planning Services, offering educational discussions and counseling on reproductive health and contraceptive options. This initiative sought to empower individuals and families to make informed decisions regarding their reproductive health, reinforcing UC’s commitment to community service and public health education.
The participation of UC CON CSC, SCS, and UYAHH in “Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio” highlights the dedication of UC students and faculty in extending healthcare services beyond the classroom. Their active involvement in community-based events continues to foster a culture of service and holistic healthcare among future nursing professionals.
As the Panagbenga Festival continues, UC remains steadfast in its mission to engage with the community, ensuring that healthcare and education remain accessible to all. The event was a testament to the university’s commitment to serving Baguio City’s residents while promoting health and well-being during one of the city’s most celebrated festivals.
