Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) recently hosted the Leadership Foundations Course – LEAF: Cultivate the Roots of Leadership with Adaptability and Teamwork on March 1 and 2, 2025, at the Cancer Center of Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center. The event was spearheaded by Assistant Chief Nurse Randy Occidental, bringing together healthcare leaders and professionals dedicated to enhancing leadership competencies in the medical field.

The intensive two-day course focused on strengthening leadership fundamentals through adaptability, collaboration, and resilience in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, team-building activities, and skill-enhancing workshops designed to foster effective leadership among nursing professionals and hospital administrators.
Among the distinguished attendees were representatives from the University of the Cordilleras (UC) College of Nursing, including Dr. Sheila Marie Batoon, Level IV Coordinator, and Mrs. Judith Layao, Program Chair and Quality Assurance Officer. Their participation highlighted UC’s commitment to professional development and fostering leadership excellence in nursing education. UC’s involvement in this event underscores its dedication to equipping future healthcare leaders with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the profession.
