Baguio City, February 27, 2025 – Level 2 Nursing students from the University of the Cordilleras – College of Nursing (UC CON) actively participated in the 19th Community Medical Mission organized by the Paltiing United Seniors Organization (PUSO) in partnership with Barangay Ambiong, Baguio City.
This significant healthcare initiative brought together various medical and healthcare professionals, reinforcing the importance of accessible healthcare services. The event was a collaborative effort involving the Cordilleras Healthcare Association of Philippine Institutions (CAHPI), the Family Physicians Baguio-Benguet Chapter, and the Philippine Medical Women’s Association Baguio-Benguet. Esteemed doctors including Dr. Reylita Cubillas-Calimlim, Dr. Leio Calimlim, Dr. Divina Palaganas, and Dr. Cassandra Gresh provided their expertise to serve the community. Legal aid services were also available through the assistance of Atty. Paolo Salvosa. Additionally, medical representatives and numerous volunteers contributed to the success of this mission.
Accompanied by Clinical Instructor Lynette Palangeo, UC CON nursing students played a crucial role in providing healthcare assistance, conducting health assessments, and supporting various medical screenings. Their active involvement highlighted their dedication to community service and experiential learning in healthcare.

With the theme “The Groundwork for all happiness is good health,” the medical mission emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and community support. The event served as a platform for UC CON students to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios, further strengthening their role as future healthcare providers.
