On April 23, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Baguio City, the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC CON) successfully held its annual Nursing Care Outreach Program in celebration of its 9th Communidad Celebration.
The event featured a wide range of free health services for the community, including vital signs taking and monitoring, blood typing courtesy of UC CON faculty and the UC Laboratory, and blood donation services in partnership with the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) Blood Bank.
Reproductive health services, including HIV screening and counseling, were provided in collaboration with the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines – Baguio-Benguet Chapter. Other services included circumcision, Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing, and dental check-ups in partnership with UC dentist Dr. Jox R. Villanueva.
Medical consultations were rendered by Dr. Marilou C. Cabinta of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Regional Office – CAR and Dr. Brenda S. Cirilo, faculty member of UC CON. Free medications were also distributed, courtesy of the UC College of Nursing.
This meaningful outreach program was actively participated in by UC CON faculty and students, showcasing their dedication to service, compassion, and community engagement.
