On July 5, 2025, the vibrant spirit of art and advocacy came alive in Barangay Salud Mitra, Baguio City during PINTA SA BAGUIO, a heartwarming outreach and creative engagement held with the children of Baguio City. With the theme of expression, nutrition, and emotional wellness, the event was spearheaded by the College of Nursing – Student Council (CSC) of the University of the Cordilleras in collaboration with Project PINTA.

The morning began at 8:00 AM with registration and settling in, facilitated by Angel Zarina Mina of the Secretariat. Sean Dale Manaloto, CSC Ombudsman and incoming USC President, officially opened the event with his inspiring remarks. This was followed by a health teaching session on “Pinggang Pinoy” led by John Nielson Baling-oay and CSC officers — emphasizing balanced nutrition in a fun and accessible way for children.
Rhussell Famy, founder of Project PINTA, shared a meaningful message at 9:00 AM, setting the tone for the day’s main event: T-Shirt Painting, which ran until 10:15 AM. Guided by volunteers, children were free to express their creativity — a colorful and therapeutic activity that brought wide smiles and deeper connections.

From 10:15 to 11:00 AM, the children proudly shared their artworks, each piece a reflection of their joy and imagination. This was followed by a photo opportunity to capture the heartfelt moments of the day. The Awarding of Certificates was led by Sean Dale Manaloto and Maverick Fortuna of the Awards Committee, recognizing the efforts of all participants and supporters.
Incoming CSC Governor Maverick Fortuna delivered the closing remarks, followed by the distribution of food by the dedicated Food Committee: Nathazia Gabrielle Ugay, Vin Goldberg Garcia, and Crisanto Manguerra Jr. The program concluded with egress at 12:00 NN.

Serving as the Masters of Ceremonies were the ever-energetic Kyla Tangalin and Kert Rencis Padilla, who guided the flow of the event with warmth and cheer.
Beyond the colorful shirts and shared laughter, PINTA SA BAGUIO became a platform for advocacy, learning, and healing — proving that a little creativity can go a long way in shaping a child’s future. Through this initiative, the UC College of Nursing CSC continues its mission of building compassionate communities and empowering the youth.
Together, we brought color to young hearts — and painted a brighter, kinder tomorrow. 🫶
