Baguio City, September 17–19, 2025 – The University of the Cordilleras Youth and Adolescent Sexuality and Reproductive Health Hub (UYAHH) actively participated in the three-day Sexually Healthy and Personally Effective (SHAPE) Adolescents Seminar, organized by the Commission on Population and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (CPD-CAR). The seminar aimed to equip adolescents with knowledge and skills to navigate puberty, emotional growth, and interpersonal relationships responsibly.
Day One focused on self-awareness and understanding physical and emotional changes during adolescence. Mr. Jeffrey Aliga, School Head Teacher of Irisan Elementary School, discussed puberty, HIV prevention, and teenage pregnancy, while Mr. Peter Bon Tuliao, Teacher III at Pines City National High School, guided students on emotional resilience and coping with changing feelings and expectations.
Day Two emphasized healthy relationships with family, peers, and the community. Participants engaged in discussions and activities that promoted effective communication, value formation, and responsible decision-making.
Day Three concluded at Pines City National High School with a teaching demonstration led by UYAHH. Through interactive exercises and open dialogue, students explored the physical, emotional, and social aspects of adolescence, building confidence and informed decision-making skills in a supportive environment.
