Strengthening Nursing Leadership Through Academic–Service Collaboration
The University of the Cordilleras – College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (UC CONAHS) actively participated in the first session of Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center’s (BGHMC) Leadership Development Course, held on November 20–21, 2025. This session forms part of BGHMC’s Trilogy Course on Nursing Leadership, an initiative aimed at enhancing the leadership competencies of nurses from both service and academic institutions.

Representing UC CONAHS as facilitators, Dr. Sheila Maria Batoon and Mrs. Judith A. Layao guided discussions, supported workshop activities, and engaged participants in various leadership development exercises that promote effective communication, decision-making, and professional growth.
UC CONAHS also proudly acknowledges the participation of Level 4 Coordinator Mrs. Josephine Minger, who joined the leadership session as one of the trainees. Her involvement highlights the college’s dedication to empowering faculty members through continuous professional development and leadership-strengthening programs.
This collaboration between UC CONAHS and BGHMC reinforces the shared commitment of both institutions to cultivate competent, confident, and service-driven nurse leaders who can positively influence healthcare environments.
