UC-CONAHS Faculty Join International Forum on Handling Difficult Workplace Conversations

Strengthening professional communication and fostering positive work environments in nursing practice

Faculty members of the University of the Cordilleras – College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (UC-CONAHS) participated in the forum entitled “Handling Difficult Conversations in the Workplace” held at the Cancer Center Training Hall on January 27, 2026. The activity focused on equipping health professionals with practical strategies in managing sensitive and challenging interactions in professional settings, particularly within high-stress healthcare environments.

Representing UC-CONAHS were Program Coordinator and Quality Assurance Officer Ms. Judith A. Layao and Faculty Member Ms. Glizerine Jeanette L. Caput. The forum featured international subject matter experts Bernie Rochford, MBE, of the NHS Foundation Trust, and Jennifer Caguioa, MBE, BSN, MS, RN, Senior Clinical Manager at NHS England. With the theme “Sharing Experiences and Reflections on Creating a Positive Workplace Environment,”the session emphasized respectful dialogue, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution as essential competencies for healthcare leaders and educators. Participation in this forum reinforces UC-CONAHS’ commitment to continuous faculty development and the promotion of healthy, collaborative work cultures in nursing education and practice.
