Faculty coordinators and members of the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Student Council actively participated in the Academic Forum Co-Creating Learning through Technology held on February 21, 2026 at the UC Theater. The activity gathered faculty members, student leaders, and representatives from different academic units to explore how technology can support more inclusive, engaging, and learner-centered education. UC CONAHS delegates demonstrated active engagement throughout the sessions, contributing insights drawn from their experiences in classroom instruction, clinical exposure, and student organization work.
The forum featured an academic lecture by Dr. Thomas J. Tobin of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Fulbright Specialist, who discussed practical strategies in designing accessible learning materials, improving participation, and strengthening interaction in both face-to-face and technology-supported learning environments. During the collaborative question and answer session, participants shared challenges encountered in teaching and learning, including maintaining student engagement, managing academic workload, and supporting diverse learners. The exchange allowed CONAHS representatives to reflect on ways to enhance nursing education, particularly in the use of digital platforms, guided research activities, and structured feedback mechanisms.
Participation in the activity supports the college’s ongoing initiatives in improving instructional delivery and student support systems. Insights from the forum are expected to guide future classroom practices, student council projects, and learning activities that promote active learning, responsible technology use, and accessibility of educational resources. Through continuous faculty development and student leadership involvement, UC CONAHS strengthens its commitment to responsive and innovative nursing education aligned with current educational needs.
