UC College of Nursing Actively Participates in Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

BAGUIO CITY—Demonstrating its commitment to disaster preparedness and safety, the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC CON) actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) for the first quarter of 2025. The drill, held on March 13 at 3 p.m., was spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and involved agencies, schools, and institutions nationwide.

At the sound of the alarm, UC CON students, faculty, and staff immediately performed the standard “duck, cover, and hold” maneuver to protect themselves from potential hazards during an earthquake. The drill was conducted both within the UC campus and in its affiliating hospital institutions, reinforcing the importance of preparedness in various healthcare settings.

The UC College of Nursing remains steadfast in its commitment to disaster risk reduction and preparedness, continuously collaborating with national agencies and local institutions to enhance safety measures and emergency response strategies. By participating in the NSED, UC CON reaffirms its role in promoting a culture of safety and readiness in the face of natural disasters.
