The UC Baguio – University Student Council, in collaboration with the College of Nursing (CON), successfully organized a community outreach program at Bad-ayan Integrated School in Sitio Bad-ayan, Barangay Baculongan Sur, Buguias, Benguet, on August 3. The outreach aimed to address immediate needs identified during a thorough community needs assessment conducted on June 15. Key activities included providing basic health services such as vital signs assessments, blood glucose testing, and blood typing conducted by nursing students. Additionally, school supplies were distributed to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, ensuring they are well-equipped for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025.
The program was met with enthusiasm and gratitude from the local community, who appreciated the comprehensive health services and the essential school supplies provided. This outreach not only fulfilled critical health and educational needs but also fostered a sense of community and support among the residents of Sitio Bad-ayan. Through initiatives like this, the UC University Student Council and the College of Nursing continue to demonstrate their commitment to community service and empowerment, creating positive impacts and strengthening ties within the community.
