UC CON Faculty Participate in NurseLEAD 3: Enhancing Faculty Competencies in Teaching Public Health Nursing

Two faculty members from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC CON) have recently completed the prestigious NurseLEAD 3 (Batch 4): Enhancing Faculty Competencies in Teaching Public Health Nursing in the BSN Program, a capacity-building program organized by the University of the Philippines – Manila.

The hybrid training program was held online for Modules 1 to 4 on March 14, March 21, March 28, and April 5, 2025, and concluded with a face-to-face session from April 14 to 16, 2025, at Sotejo Hall, UP Manila College of Nursing.

Representing UC CON were  Lester June Chumacog, MAN, RN, and Daisy Itchock, MAN, RN, who successfully completed the program along with other nursing educators from various institutions across the country.

NurseLEAD 3 is part of a continuing professional development initiative aimed at equipping faculty members with advanced teaching strategies, updated curriculum insights, and innovative approaches in the instruction of Public Health Nursing, in alignment with the BSN program outcomes and national health priorities.

The participation of Mr. Chumacog and Ms. Ichock underscores UC CON’s ongoing commitment to faculty development, academic excellence, and the delivery of high-quality nursing education grounded in community and public health principles.
