On June 18, 2025, the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON) successfully held a Faculty Development Program (FDP) at the UC Auditorium from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. This event was designed to further empower faculty members in advancing their teaching strategies through modern tools and pedagogical approaches aligned with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and international standards.
The event featured two key sessions. The first part of the training, titled “AI Tools for Education: Capacity Building for Faculty Members – Session 2,” was delivered by Mr. Don Harl Malabanan. As part of the AI Initiatives Training Series, this session provided practical insights on harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance instructional delivery, learning assessment, and faculty productivity. Mr. Malabanan highlighted real-time AI tools and platforms that support teaching innovation and foster student engagement in various learning environments.

The second session focused on “Re-Skilling of CON Faculty on the Utilization of CANVAS-LMS”, including the proper use of the INCL-UC-OBE Syllabus Format with Integrated ISO Inputs, and a comprehensive guide to Course Mapping. This session was facilitated by Mr. Dionisio R. Tandingan Jr., BSCOE, MCS, MAEd, who currently serves as the Director of the UC Institute of Teaching and Learning (OBE). His session aimed to strengthen faculty members’ proficiency in the UC’s official learning management system (LMS) while aligning their course structures with OBE standards and ISO-based quality assurance mechanisms.

The FDP highlighted the College’s continuing commitment to academic excellence, technological advancement, and faculty growth. Through programs like these, UC-CON ensures that its educators are well-equipped to deliver high-impact, globally aligned nursing education to future healthcare professionals.
