Bringing holistic healthcare and cultural unity to communities across Benguet and Baguio.
The University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing (UC-CON) successfully held Communidad 2024, a three-day Medical–Dental–Circumcision Mission from May 21 to 23, 2024, at the University of the Cordilleras. Conducted in partnership with doctors and Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), the event provided free and essential healthcare services to more than 250 clients, many of whom were indigent residents from UC, Itogon, Kapangan, La Trinidad, and Baguio City. This initiative marked a meaningful return to large-scale community service following the pandemic.
Beyond providing free medical and dental care, the celebration featured educational lectures for student nurses, cultural presentations, and exciting competitions, including the Search for Mr. and Ms. Communidad 2024. These activities fostered camaraderie, learning, and cultural appreciation, reflecting UC-CON’s mission to promote inclusive, community-centered nursing education.
Communidad 2024 reaffirmed the College’s dedication to community engagement, health equity, and service learning, underscoring UC-CON’s role in promoting holistic well-being and social responsibility among both students and the communities they serve.
