The second wave of Free and Confidential HIV Screening took place on March 15, 2024, with support from the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) and the UC College of Nursing (UC CON) College Student Council. A total of 51 students from the university participated in this half-day event, which aimed to provide essential health services and information.
Members of FPOP offered education about HIV and the significance of HIV screening, empowering participants to understand their health status. After receiving their test results, attendees were given free male and female condoms to promote safe practices. This initiative represents a crucial step in eliminating the stigma and negative perceptions surrounding HIV testing, as it informs students about their health while encouraging them to seek testing without fear. FPOP and UYAHH ensured that all disclosed information remained confidential, respecting participants’ identities and handling all data with the utmost care.
