Promoting Collaboration and Mental Health Support for the UC Community
Faculty members from the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (UC CONAHS) participated in the Launching of the Active Collaboration to Enhance Well-Being (ACE-WeB) organized by the Guidance Services and Wellness Center (GSWC) under the Student Affairs Services, held on October 29, 2025, at the University of the Cordilleras.
With the theme “Stronger Together Towards Wellness for Every Student Journey,” the event highlighted the university’s strong commitment to mental health promotion, psychosocial support, and collective well-being for both students and employees. The activity aimed to strengthen UC’s mental health programs through interdepartmental collaboration, resource sharing, and faculty involvement in student wellness initiatives.
The program featured a POV session led by Mr. Rolando Malafu, Guidance Counselor from Cordillera Science High School, who shared insights on fostering student resilience and emotional well-being. Dr. Angelita A. Padilla and Ms. Daphne E. Zaparita facilitated the discussion on next steps toward developing a functional ACE-WeB framework, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness, early intervention, and peer support mechanisms. The closing segment, graced by Dr. Ariel Nimo B. Pumecha and VP Rhodora A. Ngolob, reinforced UC’s mission to sustain a mentally healthy, inclusive, and compassionate learning environment.
The participation of UC CONAHS faculty in the ACE-WeB launch demonstrates their continuous advocacy for mental health support, employee well-being, and student-centered care, aligning with the university’s goal of fostering a culture of empathy, resilience, and holistic growth.
