On January 4, 2023, the Nursing Laboratory at the University of the Cordilleras College of Nursing became the center of an intensive Health Assessment Simulation Workshop, where all faculty members came together for a day dedicated to enhancing their clinical skills. Designed as a collaborative exercise in quality assessment and best practice sharing, the workshop provided hands-on experience in health assessment techniques through realistic, case-based simulations.
Throughout the day, faculty members practiced critical skills in patient assessment, from conducting thorough physical examinations to interpreting clinical data. Set up within the Nursing Laboratory, these simulations closely resembled real patient interactions, equipping faculty to model patient-centered care and effective diagnostic reasoning. Each scenario emphasized not only technical skill but also communication, accuracy, and decision-making.
In structured feedback sessions, participants exchanged best practices, discussed innovative teaching strategies, and reflected on methods to enhance student learning in health assessment. This workshop is part of the college’s ongoing commitment to professional development, ensuring that faculty remain at the forefront of nursing education and are well-prepared to deliver high-quality instruction.
