February is not only a month dedicated to celebrating love but also an important time to focus on oral health. To commemorate Oral Health Month, the College of Nursing Student Council, in collaboration with UYAHH and the candidates for Mr. & Ms. Nursing 2024, organized a school nursing initiative aimed at promoting oral health awareness at Baguio Central School on February 23, 2024. Under the theme “Sparkling Smiles Day: Smile Bright, Brush Right,” the event featured educational sessions, engaging interactive activities, and the distribution of oral hygiene kits to instill good oral health habits in the young students.
The event resonated with the 478 grade 1 and grade 2 students of Baguio Central School, who actively participated and showed enthusiasm throughout the activities. The success of this initiative would not have been possible without the generous contributions from the Communities Aligning Baguio and San Antonio Texas (CABSAT) and the Philippine Nurses Association Cordillera Chapter (PNACC), who provided essential resources. Special acknowledgment goes to Ma’am Judith Odanee G. Magwilang, Dean of the College of Nursing, whose unwavering support and guidance were pivotal to the event’s success. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated faculty and staff members, whose commitment to education and community service has profoundly impacted the lives of the students and the broader community.
